Before you ring

What happens when you view, and when you make an offer

If you haven't bought a home before, or not for a while, here's how it works with us.

  1. Arrange the viewing

Ring 01632 960 418, email, or use the form below, and tell us which home or which part of town you're interested in. Say which days and times suit you, and we'll come back to you to confirm a time.

If it's a flat, ask for the lease details before you come, so you know what you're looking at.

  2. Look beyond the rooms

Walk the street before you go in: notice the parking, the noise and which way the garden faces. Inside, open cupboards, look at the windows, and ask about the heating, the broadband and what's included in the sale.

No question is too small. We'd rather you ask on the day than wonder afterwards, and a second viewing at a different time of day is often worth it.

  3. Making an offer

When you're ready, tell us the figure and your position: whether you have a mortgage agreement in principle, and whether you have a home of your own to sell. We pass every offer on to the seller in writing.

The decision is the seller's. We'll let you know their answer as soon as we have it, and explain what happens next if it's a yes.

From an accepted offer to getting the keys, our guidance for buyers takes you through the rest.
